Day-1: The group arrived at Colombo from Dammam after 5 hours flight and were welcomed and garlanded at airport. The group was transferred in 2 branded black VIP buses & had breakfast at outskirts of Colombo.  While continuing drive to Kandy stopped for Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and had lunch. After this unique experience arrived in the afternoon at hill station city of Kandy and checked in at beautiful Mahaweli Reach Hotel.  In the evening conducted sightseeing tour of Kandy hills and lake by Tuktuk’s. Attended local cultural dance by famous Kandyan dancers. After buffet dinner the families had well deserved overnight rest.

Day-2: The DCA cricket team had early breakfast and left to play cricket match at the international picturersize stadium while other group members, ladies and children went for shopping / sightseeing.  The cricket team had buffet lunch at stadium while others had lunch at Kandy city. After match the players joined families at beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens. After tour of gardens had city tour and more shopping. This was followed by buffet dinner at hotel and later families had leisure time.

Day-3: The group had breakfast and started journey to Nuwara Eliya known as little England of Sri Lanka.  En-route made a visit to a Tea Plantation/Factory where saw the process of how the world’s finest tea is being made. Also had Tea Plucking competition for the ladies and the winners were rewarded with a gifts. Also witnessed on the way astonishing Ramboda Waterfall while having lunch. Reached Nuwara Eliya a city at very high altitude in the mountains with such nice scenic view all along. Here the group enjoyed boat rides and had snacks.  Returned back to Kandy hotel and had buffet dinner and relaxed after full day tour.   

Day-4: The group had breakfast and checked out from Kandy hotel. On way to Colombo visited factory outlet and had lunch on arrival at Colombo. In the afternoon group had city tour and lots of shopping. Then checked-in at laxourious Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel. The group then had gala ferry dinner at the lake. Lavish dinner was served with background music. The families had more than 2 hours of fun and then returned to Hotel.  

Day-5: The group had breakfast and continued on city tour and shopping. Photographed Brisbane state cricket team match at International cricket ground. In the afternoon checked out and left for airport. Some group members stayed back at hotel and enjoyed swimming. In the afternoon checked-out and left for Colombo airport. The flight was on time at Dammam around 9.00 pm. S. ARAMCO busses were waiting and drove us back to Dhahran camp. End of trip.

Special thanks to digital media experts Huma Mian and Basharat Ali who saved memories of this trip by capturing hundreds of photographs. Also special thanks to Wajahat Ali DCA OOK coordinator in helping organizing this trip. DCA board for approval and Salman Kaleemi for his support during the trip. Mr. Jehangir deserves special appreciation.  Ladies, gents, boys and girls kept things alive and entertained with songs, games and other activities during long drives between the cities.
